Paris’ Musée du Quai Branly, one of the most respected institutions in Ethnology and Anthropology launches a fifteen-month-long major exhibition on the art and history of tattooing in May 2014, called Tatoueurs, Tatoues.
The exhibition’s curators have chosen my work: ‘Yantra: The Sacred Ink’ to illustrate Thailand’s sacred yantra tattooing tradition in the form of prints and a never before shown short film which will be launched at the exhibition.
The images are the result of 4 years work, photographed predominantly on large and medium format cameras, giving an in-depth insight into the world of Thailand’s spirit tattoos. First launched in May 2011 in Bangkok, the work has since been shown in Arles, London, Orlando and Paris.
