Shadow Archives

February 2026 - April 2027

Shadow Archives is a year-long exhibition cycle that explores how memory is constructed, suppressed, and reimagined in the wake of disappearance, trauma, and political control. Across a series of inter connected exhibitions, artists respond to the fragility of truth and the violence of forgetting, working with photography, sculpture, installation, text, and digital media to confront what is missing from the official record.

The archive, in this context, is not a neutral repository. It is a battlefield: a place where power decides what is preserved, and where artists return to grieve, disrupt, repair, and reframe. From state surveillance and media distortion to inherited silence and speculative resistance, Shadow Archives maps the many ways in which images, objects, and gestures can carry memory forward. even when institutions fail to.
